Finally passed my confirmation on 24 Mar and started to pick up calls on tues. Really wanna thank God for His grace and favour. There's a final test at the end of training called the Call Stumulation. My boss will call my from her phone and see how i handle the call. I heard that she will usually call a few times before she decides whether the new staff is ready to take up calls. After 2 calls, she asked me to start taking calls. According to her, I can just go slow for the first 6 months taking 20-40 calls a dayto build up my confidence and product knowledge. I took 27 calls on tues, 35 on weds and no stats on fri yet. On tues, I was given a very pleasant surprise by God! One of the cust gave me a compliment! He asked to speak to my manager about it. What an awesome way to start the job! Honestly, the job is not exactly difficult but to master all the product knowledge on my finger tips is one big challenge. May God be my helper and continue to grant me His favour as I establish my career in the banking industry.

Uncle peng guan asked if i think this job is too demeaning for me. With a degree why am I doing something rather simple. I tot that was a really good question and it does set me thinking. Like what i said earlier, this job is not difficult but it does req certain cust service skills and confidences to deliever the call professionally. So...i gave his question and tot and derived the following.

1. This job may not be difficult, but it does allow me to understand the bank and the various products that they offer.

2. Since i'm thinking of either doing marketing or being a RM in the long run, the current position allows me to have a good understanding of corporate banking

3. My manager promised that after 1 yr, we can discussed about changing team within the dept and after 2 yrs i can request for a transfer to another dept. Even the management trainees start off doing what i'm doing. They are here for 6-9 months before been transfered to their business unit.

4. What's there to complain if i'm doing what a mangement trainne is doing?

5. We do have to start somewhere isnt it?

So yupz! not confused anymore. This job it shall be at least for this entire year. Let's see where God leads in time to come.
